Constipation, or irritable bowel syndrome, is defined as a decrease in stool frequency to two times a week or less, the patient feeling highly strained and bloated. It is very important to create the optimal conditions for the digestive system to properly operate. For this, it is recommended to use drink eight or ten glasses of water daily.
Avoid dry foods. The food you ingest must contain adequate amounts of oil.
To prevent constipation and promote bowel cleansing it is recommended to consume two or three glasses of hot water in the early morning hours, as soon as you wake up.
When you are constipated, it is not advisable to eat rice, instead wheat is recommended.
The compulsory diet during this period should contain fruits and vegetables. Extremely effective are papaya, tomato and beetroot salad.
Avoid foods which are difficult to digest, such as beans, cabbage, mushrooms etc.

Recently, an international team led by University of Adelaide researchers has identified the mechanism of pain relief of a new drug for treating Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation (IBS-C), based on nonclinical studies, and quantified its effectiveness in pain relief in human trials. According to studies, IBS affects up to 15% of western populations, costing millions of dollars annually in Australia alone in lost productivity and health care. Approximately one third of IBS patients are diagnosed as having IBS-C.
“The drug is effective in relieving abdominal pain associated with IBS-C and is already available and registered for use by IBS-C patients in the USA and Europe. It is yet to go through the regulatory process in Australia”.

The simplest remedy for constipation and irritable bowel syndrome is to drink a glass of lemon juice with a pinch of salt.
Papaya and guava are also useful in treating constipation. Regular consumption of papaya in the early morning on an empty stomach, prevents constipation. Fruit salads containing papaya and guava can be eaten at any time of the day, as they help cleanse the intestines and prevents constipation.
The consumption of lime in hot water in the early hours of the morning is also recommended. This prevents constipation and refreshes your tonus.
Grapes have laxative properties, thus preventing chronic constipation.
Another common remedy for constipation are flaxseeds. Leave for two hours a tablespoon flax seeds to soak in water. Before going to bed, drink water that soaked the flaxseeds. You will feel the first improvement the very next day.
Crush two-three sunflower seeds, almonds and sesame and for one week consume a spoon powder daily or add it to juices or in salads. They are a natural remedy for constipation.
Oranges are beneficial for the proper functioning of the colon and are indicated for the prevention of constipation. Every day, you should be drinking an orange juice because it helps cleanse the intestines and rejuvenates the body.
Spinach, eaten fresh or cooked, is effective in cleansing the entire digestive tract. Fresh spinach juice prevents or treats chronic constipation.
Figs are also good for constipation. Leave them to soak in water overnight and consume them in the early morning hours.
Castor oil is an effective laxative. It is a natural remedy that has no side effects and has good results in case of constipation.
